Rethinking the new possibilities in customization and its own Nike iD program, Nike, along with retail giant Finish Line started the T-Shirt Customization Experience a few month ago to push the technical threshold further. Designed by NYC-base creative agency STEADY, the T-Shirt Customization Experience is essentially a real-time screen printing mill, enable customers to design their own Nike t-shirt and wear the finished product in the matter of half an hour.
The process starts with the technical centerpiece – a large touch screen display. In every way similar to giant Apple iPad, the display allows user to customize a multitude of option, including special edition graphics such as the ones for the month of May from Allen AKA of 12oz Prophet. Next, the finished design is feed digitally to an on-site fabric printer and voila! a customized t-shirt of your very own. Currently in the preliminary stage, the Nike x Finish Line T-Shirt Customization Experience Kiosk will begin to arrive at select Finish Line retail locations in June.
