The locale couldn’t be better – a junction point between art, fashion, style and trends, the CAPSULE Show Summer 2010 opened its doors this morning at the former DIA Center in Chelsea, New York City. Despite an early freak storm, the mood wasn’t dampen a bit (though we can’t say the same for some of us). Visitors, buyers, from fashion industries, both local and abroad, walked the spiral stairway up to 3 floors of more 100 exhibitors. Everyone from the likes of John Barlett, Simon Spurr, to those more in tune to the street wear culture, Staple Design, Keds, Nike Sportswear, and more… The centerpiece of the show actually might not be at the “center” of it all, but the light installation along snaking up the stairway – an original piece from pioneering light artist Dan Flavin and one of his last work before his death in 1996. The CAPSULE Show will be ongoing from now till tomorrow, from 10 am to 6 pm.
