Agenda NYC 2010 – Crooks & Castle – Spring 2011

Agenda NYC 2010 – Crooks & Castle – Spring 2011

The arrival of AGENDA trade show this week to New York City also pronounced the changing genre of what use to be called street wear. And no better example of this than the Spring 2011 collection from Cooks & Castle. Through its designs in the past, Crooks & Castle and its creative director Dennis Calvero were adept to express their Southern California culture and lifestyle to the rest of the world. It was through that interchange of ideas and cross references, Calvero’s designs evolved to the C & C of today. And though home base and inspirations will still come from the streets of Los Angeles, the sensibilities of the designs, from heavy gauge twill jacket to chambray shirts, will all carry a hint of East Coast aestheticism. The result is a mix-and-match styling uniquely Crooks & Castle’s own, from its staple of graphic t-shirts and varsity jacket to the new footwear collection this year.
