This month Nike SB is readying a holiday-themed Dunk representing Sean Cliver’s first foray into sneaker design. Borrowing its name from a character originating from Eastern Europe folklore, the Nike SB Dunk High “Krampus” features Cliver’s instantly recognizable artwork across the insoles, reminiscent of the artist’scollection for Supreme. The illustrated image depicts St. Nick corralling his seemingly hell-spawn accomplice, a mythical creature who goes by the name Krampus. The demonic character, sporting a furry hide, horns and cloven hooves, is dispatched by St. Nick to mete punishment to children who land on the naughty side of the holiday ledger. Cliver’s Dunk is made for those mischievous kids, now grown up. Consequently, the kicks feature a black and red colorway with cracked leather and faux goat hair covering the upper, the materials inspired by Krampus himself. A red-flecked black midsole completes the sinister motif. Look for the limited edition kicks – along with a matching cap and tees — to arrive soon at select Nike SB retailers.
