Due for an official unveiling at this year’s Shanghai Motor Show before the production version makes its debut at this September’s Frankfurt Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz presents the first look at its GLA Concept. Based on the manufacturer’s A-Class hatchback, the five-door compact crossover will likely adopt many aspects of both the A-Class and the CLA-Class sedan while offering a roomier interior for added versatility. The new vehicle is built using the A-Class’s wheelbase and sits atop 20″ wheels while likely boasting the choice of either a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine or a diesel counterpart under the hood (each capable of around 300 hp), as well as the choice of either seven-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission varieties.
