ADIDAS LAUNCHES “BOSTON STANDS AS ONE” T-SHIRT TO SUPPORT VICTIMS

Similar to terrorist acts in the past, Monday’s bombings along the final route of Boston Marathon have shattered the celebratory atmosphere long associated with 117-year-old event. For adidas however, the unspeakable act of violence was quite harrowing for the company. The event was to mark ’ 25th year as its Official Sponsor and the company’s commitment to its organizer, the Boston Athletic Association (BAA). In fact, leading up to Monday’s marathon, adidas actually hosted a training clinic atMarathon Sports at 671 Boylston Street, just feet away from where the first bomb hit. But as before, with every tragedy comes an unwavering sense of resolve. In that same resolute spirit, adidas announced the launch of “Boston Stands As One” t-shirt.

In Boston’s colors of blue with yellow lettering, the tee features the unicorn emblem of BAA and retails for $26.20 USD, in reference to the marathon’s 26.2 miles. 100% of the proceeds will go straight to The One Fund Boston, a special charity formed by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Menino to help those affected by the bombings on Monday. The t-shirt is now available at BAA.org andadidas.com.

Again, our hearts go out to those affected by the senseless act on Monday.
