BREITLING EMERGENCY II WATCH

To reaffirm itself as the provider of “Instruments for Professionals,” watch maker BREITLING just introduced the Emergency II Watch. Like the  Emergency Watch, which was the first wristwatch to have a built-in emergency microtransmitter during its introduction in 1995, the  Emergency II incorporated the same distress beacon. However, largely thanks to the advancement of transponder technology and watch making methods, the microtransmitters is now capable of transmitting signals at 406.040 MHz digital frequency to COSPAS-SARSAT network of orbiting satellites. A 121.5 MHz signal can be detectable over land as well for Search And Rescue (SAR) crew. To active, simply unscrew and pull out the coiled antenna. As a way to ensure amble supply of power for the beacon, BREITLING developed a special rechargeable battery along with a charger-tester station that comes with each timepiece.

In addition to the distress beacon, BREITLING lavished the Emergency II with a state-of-the-arts Breitling Caliber 76 chronometer function certified by the COSC. Powered by BREITLING’s SuperQuartz, the dial face features a 12/24-hour analog display and LCD digital display for battery power indicator, 1/100th second chronograph, dual time zone, multilingual calendar and more. Encased in a 51mm titanium casing with glareproofed sapphire crystal, Emergency II is water-resistant up to 5 atmospheric bars or about 50 meters. With the titanium case aside, the BREITLING Emergency II Watch comes in three different dial colors – Volcano Black, Cobra Yellow, and Intrepid Orange.
