DANNY BOWIEN AND JOEY CAMPANARO TO COOK AT KATZ’S DELI FOR 125th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Shabbat Dinner Benefitting Henry Street Settlement on Friday, May 31, 2013
2013 James Beard Award winner Danny Bowien of Mission Chinese and Joey Campanaro of The Little Owl, Market Table and Quality Clam will be the chefs interpreting Katz’s Delicatessen staples for the restaurants’ 125th anniversary celebration. Bowien and Campanaro will set up a kitchen at the Lower East Side deli, and develop signature dishes with Katz’s pastrami and corned beef at a dinner benefitting Henry Street Settlement on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Katz’s, 205 East Houston Street, on the corner of Ludlow Street, Manhattan. Pastry chef Sarabeth Levine will be responsible for the desserts.
Expected dinner attendees are Katz’s enthusiasts from all sectors of New York society and culture as well as long-time customers of the restaurant. For die-hard Katz’s loyalists, staples such as pastrami sandwiches, Reubens and chopped liver will be available in their traditional form.
