Vine is Now Available for Android

Initially launched back in January for both iPhone and iPod Touch following its acquisition by Twitter, popular clip-sharing app Vine has made its way from iOS to Android. Now the most downloaded free app offered via the iOS App Store thanks to more than 13 million users, Vine is now available for Android-enabled smartphones with all of the features users know and love plus one additional exclusive : zoom capability. Although not yet perfectly in-sync with its iOS counterpart due to numerous updates, Vine promises that the Android version of the mobile application will continue to be tweaked and improved via a steady influx of updates – “including front-facing camera, search, mentions and hashtags, and the ability to share to Facebook” – and bug fixes over the coming weeks. Those Android users running version 4.0 (dubbed “Ice Cream Sandwich”) or later can now download Vine free of charge via Google Play.
