Shot in Raf Simons‘ hometown of Stadspark in Antwerp, the campaign video for the Belgian designer’s Fall 2013 menswear collection depicts models out in the forest, the film switching from fuzzy VHS video to crisp high-def stills following intermittent bursts of static. The concept is meant to convey the idea of old versus new, the shifting filmic technologies mirroring the throwback aesthetic of a collection built for a new generation. Simons drew on the talents of a duo of longtime collaborators — photographer Willy Vanderperre and stylist Olivier Rizzo — to create the visually arresting clip, one bursting with color from the forest backdrop, as well as the loose-fitting apparel seen on the models.
