What better place than a bird’s eye view from the Empire State Building for Staple to showcase their forthcoming collection for Fall 2013? The press was treated to an exclusive look at the range, which mixes military motifs with preppy cuts to under the theme of the “Dead Pigeon Society.” Here we find the legacy brand at the top of its game with a range of premium T-shirts, patterned wovens, mixed-material jackets and slim-cut trousers. While overall impressive, highlights of the collection include a Mike Tyson-inspired capsule designed by Joe Buck; the Darwin Jacket, a navy cotton bomber-inspired piece garnished with rich beige suede shoulder patches; the Kyoto collection, which combines school-inspired seals on a clean, white background; and a very notable denim jacket, detailed with corduroy around the collar and Native American-style embroidery around the cuffs. We arrived just at the golden hour to shoot select items from the offering, which is set to arrive at Staple retailers in the coming weeks.
