SONY HDR-MV1 MUSIC VIDEO RECORDER

Sony seems to have been focusing on how to make creative’s lives a little bit easier these past few days. Earlier this week, the Japanese giant announced their “Smart Shot” digital camera clip-ons to help smartphone photographers take their work to the next level. Now, Sony is targeting the aspiring musician and Youtuber searching for stardom as they’ve unveiled their HDR-MV1. The  HDR-MV1 is an HD camcorder with a built in stereo field recorder, built in speaker, and 120-degree X-Y stereo microphones. Sound is recorded compressed in AAC or in uncompressed linear PCM (48khz /16 bit). Manual controls and an external mic input are also available for individuals wanting a more customized sound.

The HD camera records at 1080/30p via a 120-degree Carl Zeiss lens and for those low light situations, the camera also comes equipped with a back illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor. Other features of the camera include a Micro SD slot, replaceable batteriey, NFC for Android connectivity and WIFI which allows the user to share their clips through Sony’s PlayMemories App.

The Sony HDR-MV1 is targeted for release sometime in December and will retail for $300. Start penning that letter to Santa if you want this bad boy underneath your tree.
