Unveiled this week at the Singapore Grand Prix, the AeroSeven Concept from Caterham is based on an updated version of the Caterham Seven CSR platform and boasts technology borrowed from the UK-based automaker’s F1 team. Those benefits include a newly developed Caterham Engine Management System, as well as adjustable traction control and launch control systems. Under the hood is a Ford Duratec-based 2.0-liter inline-four, originally developed by Caterham for the production-spec Seven 485. It makes 237 horsepower, channeled through a six-speed manual gearbox to the rear set of Avon CR500 tires. The resulting 0 to 62 miles per hour spring time is accomplished in under four seconds. Caterham will likely put the AeroSeven into production next year, though there’s the chance to engine is modified before then.
