We’ve had roughly a month to digest Pusha T‘s My Name is My Name, an album strikingly true in tone and theme to his Lord Willin’ debut as one half of Clipse in 2002. “Hold On” featuring Rick Ross, co-produced by Kanye West and Hudson Mohawke, is the sixth video to drop from his first solo release on GOOD Music. The spartan presentation and muted visual product are the perfect representation of Pusha T’s message: he’s lived the life that he’s rhyming about; there is no filler.
And as one might expect from the title of this track, even with the rough delivery, the music is meant to tell a story, and that story is to persevere, to hold on. Check out the video below.
