To celebrate the upcoming Superbowl, CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Public School designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne have created a custom NFL helmet to be auctioned off at Bloomingdale’s. The custom helmet features a matte black leather body with leather-wrapped spikes running down the spine and was, in the words of Osborne, designed to “blur the lines between the NFL’s standards and ready-to-wear.” 47 other CFDA designers also contributed to the project and all 48 helmets will be unveiled at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street windows on January 15 at 5 p.m. EST. The auction will run from January 15 to February 4 with proceeds benefitting the NFL foundation. Be sure to checkout the auction on January 15 here.
