BMW 2015 Smartwatch Will Valet and Park Your Car

Driverless cars, once a concept of the future, is now fast becoming an accepted reality, and to spur that on is BMW‘s latest development in the realm of fully automated parking. Announced at CES 2015 in Las Vegas, the self-driving technology was installed onto an all-electric BMW i3 and incorporates four advanced laser scanners, digital site plans and on-board processors, along with algorithms that are able to recognize and react to unexpected obstructions, all to achieve true driverless parking. The car can essentially be controlled remotely via smartwatch and voice command, meaning that the driver can alight at the entrance to the car park while the vehicle does the hard work of finding a parking space and parking itself. The car can then be summoned via smartwatch when the driver is ready to leave, calculating the driver’s estimated time of arrival so it can meet them at the car park exit at precisely the right time. Stay tuned for more information and release date on the BMW Smartwatch.
