Following last month’s teaser video, Acura has finally unveiled the production-ready NSX. Midway through the development process, Acura decided to forgo the naturally aspirated V6 of the 2013 conceptin favor of a twin-turbocharged V6, good for over 550 horsepower, as well as a three-electric motor “sport hybrid” system and a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission. To accommodate the new power supply, the body was stretched lengthwise three inches and widened by one inch, and the cockpit shifted forward to make room for the longitudinally-mounted V6. Inside, a dial-operated Integrated Dynamic System features Quiet, Sport, Sport+ and Track modes, offering different adjustment settings for the engine, electric motors, gearbox and chassis, along with the engine sound level. Pricing is rumored to start around $150,000.
The styling is conservative and derivative, so kinda like the original. Haha. Hopefully this will inject some much needed life back into the limp and flaccid Honda/Acura of late.
