For their latest joint venture, NYC’s Staple and Timberland take inspiration from the natural phenomenon known as the polar night, wherein residents of the planet’s polar regions experience night for longer than 24 hours. The crew at Staple viewed this oddity of nature as the basis for the three-piece collection, summed up in the following credo: “No matter how cold, no matter how dark, no matter how long, man must find a way to survive and — more importantly — thrive.” The silhouettes take the form of the GT Scramble hiking boot, built with dark leathers and Helcor accents; the Lace Ox, inspired by Timberland’s original Abington Cap-Toe Oxford and featuring a Helcor leather toe; and the Nordic Field Boot, a ’90s style hiker mounted on a classic field boot sole. All three are finished with contrast white midsoles and Pigeon pink accents throughout. The Staple x Timberland #POLARNIGHT collection launches January 30th through select Timberland retailers.
