The Ford Focus has come a long way since it was first introduced in the States back in 1999. From its beginning as Ford’s response to the overwhelmingly popular Honda Civic to now a dominant player in its own right, this 2016 Ford Focus RS scheduled to launch at this week’s New York Auto Show is well worth a look. Whie final power figures aren’t available yet, motivation comes in the form of a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine, which has been well tested on European roads where is has been noted to produce about 350HP. All that power is then sent down to all four 19-inch wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. Brembo brakes help keep things under control while a drift mode and torque distribution allow you to have a little fun behind the wheel. The interior is standard for modern Fords with a nice overall infotainment center and all the gauges you need readily in sight with nice finishes. Set to be manufactured in Germany in Nitrious Blue, Stealth Gray, Frozen White, and Shadow Black, expect to see the Focus RS at dealerships next Spring.
