Legendary hip-hop producer DJ Premier is set to score and executive produce the music for a forthcoming VH1 film. The Breaks is a fictional film which examines the history of the hip-hop industry and the rise of the music genre. Producers of the film have called upon DJ Premier to provide the soundtrack, appropriate considering the man helped shape the hip-hop scene personally, with production credits including Nas‘ Illmatic, Jay Z‘sReasonable Doubt and The Notorious B.I.G.‘s Ready To Die, to name a few.
