Apple Unveils the 15-Inch MacBook Pro with Force Touch Trackpad

As many consumers have now become familiar with the pressure-sensitive trackpad of the new MacBook and smaller MacBook Pro, Apple revealed today that it has introduced Force Touch capabilities to its larger MacBook models. Amongst such a long-awaited update to Apple’s user interface, the latest MacBook Pro comes equipped with a flash storage that is rumored to be twice as fast as that of its predecessor with a further hour of battery life, and the pricier 15-inch model being made available with AMD’s Radeon R9 M370X graphic card for an unparalleled retina performance. The new trackpad carries advanced sensors and a Taptic Engine that delivers haptic feedback and allows the user to click anywhere on the pad and customize the pressure needed to register each click. Whether this inclusion will spark a massive turnaround for the app market is unclear as there are already a number of APIs available for developers to begin incorporating Force Touch capabilities into their applications. The 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro with retina display and Force Touch trackpad can now be purchased from Apple’s website starting at $1,999 USD.
