Jimmy Choo’s 2016 Spring/Summer High Octane LCM Presentation

For Jimmy Choo’s Spring/Summer 2016 men’s collection its Creative Director Sandra Choi fused the codes of traditional formalwear with the functionality of sports apparel to create a seamlessly hyper-modern hybrid of the two. “The man of today — the man I see on the street — is a liberated man of action,” said Choi. “He’s a gentleman of our time who is clued-up about the codes of the past, but is by no means bound by them. The fault lines that used to run between the formal and the informal, the sartorial and the sporting, or the technical and the extrovert are rapidly fading. The only rule that counts now is that when you choose what to wear today, it has to be both fit for purpose and a true expression of your personality.”

The forthcoming warm-weather range features a bevy of new styles, while mainstays of the brand are reimagined with a sportier influence. Key details include brogue uppers atop vulcanized soles, a Vibram penny loafer, paint-splattered derbies, a nylon-oxford. and much more. This is a collection for the 21st century man who defines his own parameters.

To showcase the aforementioned collection, Jimmy Choo recreated the traditional gentleman’s sporting club with the motto “Vive Sicut Audes,” which loosely translates to “Live the Life You Dare.” The Jimmy Choo Sporting Club recruited some of Britain’s premier skateboarders and BMX riders, including James Hewett, Zac Miller, Mark Webb and Alex Coleborn, to put each model to the test on a beautifully-crafted skatepark.
