Lexus Creates A Real Hoverboard

Last year we saw Hendo’s hoverboard prototype, but the Kickstarter project now may be overshadowed by the emergence of Lexus‘ new development. In the newest installment of its ”Amazing in Motion” video series, Lexus teases a real-live magnetized hoverboard that the luxury automaker has apparently been working on low-key for the past 18 months or so. The website states that “the Lexus Hoverboard uses magnetic levitation to achieve amazing frictionless movement. Liquid nitrogen cooled superconductors and permanent magnets combine to allow Lexus to create the impossible.” In terms of design, the Hoverboard is made of a blend of natural bamboo and other fine materials used to make Lexus cars, and features a shape that resembles the automaker’s signature spindle grille. Are you ready for a future of hoverboards? Stay tuned as we await more regular updates from Lexus on the project.
