Occupying a SoHo warehouse space in York City, one that formerly served as a metal workshop in past years, sits 45 Grand, the exclusive women’s only fitness studio where VIPs can work out with Nike‘s world-class trainers. Simply named for its address and occupying two floors, the invitation-only facility was designed by the acclaimed interior designer Rafael de Cárdenas and creative director Jen Brill. The floor-level studio is encased by a series of acrylic vertical fins, allowing light to enter while providing privacy for guests. Lining the floor is a rubberized surface, Nike Grind, made from recycled sneakers. Upstairs is a mezzanine-level lounge appointed with soft pink tufted seating, bathed in natural light from a skylight above.

The space also contains locker rooms, vitrines showcasing Nike memorabilia (running shoes from Olympic marathon champion Joan Benoit Samuelson, Serena Williams’ custom-designed kit from the 2004 US Open) and a lab-like reception area. In addition to providing a showroom space for new products, and training regimens built around Nike+ running and Nike+ training club digital services, 45 Grand will also function as an event space to honor Nike athletes.
