Given their penchants for heritage American workwear styles, WTAPS and Carhartt WIP make just about the perfect partners for a collaboration. Thus, Tetsu Nishiyama and Carhartt’s more contemporary subsidiary have come together to introduce a capsule collection for the Fall/Winter 2015 season. Reinterpreting a prototypical Carhartt jacket and vest, the collection sees the pieces in both navy and tan and includes co-branding badges along with text appliqué like “URBAN TERRITORY.” Complete with zippered plackets and slanted patch pockets and retailing for ¥52,000 JPY (approximately $434 USD) and ¥35,000 JPY (approximately $292 USD), respectively, the jackets and vests are due to be available from the GIP-STORE this October.
I’m so impressed by this collection!!! As a southerner (who grew up on a farm… I know, I know…), I automatically think oversized camo and tan coats or the overalls! It’s so crazy to think of fashion and Carhartt in the same sentence!
