Today sees the introduction of the new BMW X4 M40i, successfully adding a new top model to the brand’s already-deep BMW X4 roster ahead of the 2015 LA Auto Show. Continuing to set the bar high with enhanced driving dynamics and wicked fast acceleration, the rest of the Sports Activity Coupe segment will have to move equally fast to keep up, but they won’t have trouble noticing it with its sleek blue body and Ferric Gray metallic accents. Under the hood, the BMW X4 M40i builds on the xDrive35i model with a 3.0 liter inline 6 engine offering an extra 60HP and 43 lb-ft of torque, which allows the perked up X4 to hit 62mph in 4.9 seconds before topping out at 155mph. In addition to the notable power improvement, the X4 uses an eight-speed automatic transmission and a more aggressive all-wheel-drive setup. The “M” in the name denotes its enhanced performance over stock, most visibly seen in the sharp new body kit, including meaty 19-inch wheels and updated M-branded accessories inside the cabin. No matter how you look at it, you can expect this new BMW X4 M40i to continue to drive the SAC segment when it launches in early 2016.
