With all the hype and excitement surrounding the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it’s hard not to think about the worlds beyond our own. And, today, Converse gets in on the theme with the launch of their own First String Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 Space Collection, drawing inspiration from intergalactic space travel as it reworks the iconic 1970’s Converse silhouette. This time, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 is offered up in two vibrant colorways, with the first seeing a black and white version that honors astronauts that have traveled to the moon – complete with 3M reflective pops that match the details of their spacecraft – and graphics inspired by rocket ships across the upper. The second model is inspired by the splash down balloons that help the astronauts re-enter earth’s atmosphere safely from space, combining premium, multi-beige nylon across the upper with welded print detail and a leather toecap. The look is then finished with a translucent marbled blue outsole debossed with the coordinates of the touchdown in the Pacific Ocean. The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ‘70 Space Collection will be available starting Friday, October 23 for $120 at Converse retail stores, select first string retailers and online at Converse.com.
