Meek Mill Avoids Jail on Probation Violation

Meek Mill will avoid jail time for a probation violation that occurred in late 2015 according to new reports. He was found to be in violation of his probation by a judge last year for leaving town without giving proper notice and failing a drug test. Today he was sentenced to 6-12 months of house arrest, which will probably result in him doing the 90 day minimum.

During that time Meek is banned from working which means no performances or studio visits, and as TMZ points out, no mixtape releases. (I guess it’s a good thing he got that Drake diss out when he did.) He will only be allowed to perform charitable work for the duration of his sentence. With his Dreamchasers 4 project on deck, a lengthy jail sentence would have likely wreaked havoc on Meek’s career. Even though he can’t technically work on or promote it, at least he’s not completely cut off from the rest of the world. He has to turn himself in on March 1st.
