Today Sony unveiled its brand new consumer-ready PlayStation VR system during the GDC 2016 conference that’s set to hit shelves this fall. Built from the blood, sweat and tears of 230 developers, the set will include a LED-emblazoned VR headset that maximizes the PS4 system’s power, and a motion tracking DualShock controller, all to be used in the space of your own living room. This will also feature a multiplayer setting with a “Social Screen” that will allow the game to power both the TV and PlayStation displays so that someone with the VR headset can play with their friends.
The PlayStation VR will be hitting shelves this October along with 50 or so games. The virtual reality system will be retailing for $399 USD — a reasonable price compared to its rival Oculus Rift ($599 USD) and HTC Vive ($799 USD) sets.
