As part of Vans’ ongoing 50th anniversary celebration, the brand is re-issuing a sneaker collaboration from 1984, a bygone time before the term “sneaker collaboration” was a fixture in the popular-culture lexicon. The joint venture features a partnership with MTV, back when the burgeoning network filled its broadcast hours with music videos. MTV’s logo appears in checkerboard form on the tongue and heel, while the remainder of the canvas build is rendered in basic black with contrast white stitching. Vans’ Ultracush HD sockliner and DURACAP reinforced underlays round out the details. The MTV x Vans Era Pro hits select Vans retailers tomorrow, July 16th.
