BLACK BALL NYC gets A$AP Rocky and Chance the Rapper to Headline This Year’s Event

Keep a Child Alive, an organization co-founded by singer Alicia Keys to support children afflicted with HIV, has continually organized a massive NYC event called the Black Ball each year for over a decade now. Each gala manages to attract some of the biggest musical legends around to drum support for the foundation, and past acts have included everyone from David Bowie to Adele to Justin Timberlake in addition to a yearly set from Keys herself. Now the headlining acts for this year’s event have just been announced, and it includes a real double-whopper: A$AP Rocky and Chance the Rapper.

And if sets from two of the greatest rappers working is not enough to get you interested, the evening will also feature musical accompaniment from hip-hop legends Salt n’ Pepa and New York icon Patti Smith. On the non-performative front, former Capitol Records executive and all-around iconic recording business guru Clive Davis will be honored with the organization’s humanitarian award.

Keep a Child Alive’s Black Ball event will take place on October 19. For ticketing information, visit the event’s website.
