Tupac Pop-Up Restaurant Hits NYC

This weekend, New Yorkers will have the chance to dine at a real life version of Tupac Shakur‘s Powamekka Café, a restaurant concept based off of “three handwritten pages from Tupac’s personal notebooks more than twenty-one years ago.” The pop-up restaurant will be held at Sweet Chick, a Nas-backed chicken & waffles Southern comfort food eatery in the Lower East Side, from April 7-9. The pop-up event is a collaboration with Tupac’s estate, and will feature a menu dedicated to some of the late rapper’s favorite bites, such as gumbo, meatloaf, his cousin Jamala’s fried chicken and more. In addition, the concept restaurant will be decorated with a curated collection of Tupac’s childhood photos, poetry, memorabilia and a range of merchandise for fans to purchase. You can make reservations at Tupac’s Powamekka Café pop-up here.
