For this project, Rei Kawakubo drew inspiration from the nomadic lifestyle of living freely by yourself and not feeling like you have to belong anywhere. As a result, she opted to remix the Christian Tresser designed silhouette with a pre-worn aesthetic to lean into the on-the-go lifestyle. If you peep at the top halves of each pair, you’ll notice that the mudguard and overlays appear with a weathered construction. CDG branding is utilized in small amounts, only showing up on the shoe inserts where it’s surrounded by Swoosh insignias. Two colorways are involved in this launch, the first of which takes on a stealthier “Black” theme while the other is fashioned with a “Glacier Grey” palette.
