The colorful three-dimensional scenes were conceived by the Louis Vuitton Visual Image Studio and realized by the LEGO Certified Professionals, continuing a creative exchange that began with a 31-700-brick birthday cake made for the fashion house’s bi-centennial Louis 200 Trunk series.
The activation, which coincides with LEGO’s 90th anniversary, will reach viewers from both inside and outside the store featuring snowcapped Christmas tree sculptures, brick-covered backgrounds in vibrant Damier patterns, and several trunk variations paneled with realistic hardware.
Other installations paint scenes of Paris during the holidays with detailed replicas of the Arc de Triomphe and Pont Neuf. Snow-capped Christmas trees evoke winter, brick-covered backgrounds appear in vibrant Damier patterns, and larger-than-life trunks are stacked to resemble the Eiffel Tower. Exterior festive designs span 2 to 15 meters wide while special packaging during the season will feature LEGO motifs.
“More than an imaginative interpretation of the Louis Vuitton universe, the collaboration with LEGO Certified Professionals underscores the enduring message of handmade creation. From a single brick to millions, the tradition of both brands finds joyful expression resulting from interaction,” writes Louis Vuitton in a press release.
Look for the LEGO installations to begin appearing October 29 and extend until January 1. Following the event, the bricks will be repurposed to inspire kids in local schools through grassroots partnerships.
