Bricks & Wood – a South Central, Los Angeles based apparel and storytelling brand founded in 2014 – is fairly new to the sneaker space. To follow up its 57/40 from June 2021, the community-focused team will launch a New Balance 9060 in the first-half of 2023. Teased via a refreshingly funny short ad, the sneaker recently emerged via official images, unveiling the pair that was blurred out in the minute-and-fifteen-seconds-long video. Color-wise, the upcoming 9060 blends the clean style of the label’s K-SWISS collaboration from May 2023 and lush green accents from its first New Balance project. A greyscale mesh base layer sits underneath hairy beige suede, possibly a nod to NB heritage. The aggressive sole unit inherently draws attention, which is amplified by the aforementioned hits of green that animates cushioning zones. Yet, the furry laces arguably steal the show (and shoe).
