As creative director for the brand’s Made in USA program, the New York native continues this trend, breathing new life into designs like the NB 990v3. Ahead of spring, the ENCAP cushioned model appeared in an eye-catching green and yellow color combination. Vastly different from the grey with which the New Balance 990v3 debuted, the arrangement covers the premium pig suede and breathable mesh with a clover-like hue. Logos on the sides deliver stark sun-like contrast. The Aimé Leon Dore frontman applies a black tone to the tongue and Achilles’ heel, leaving nearby “990” branding in grey. Below, the reliable shock-absorbing sole unit favors an “aged” look that’s in line with other work from Santis.
